Please reach out to me anytime with any questions, comments or thoughts about the course.  The best way to contact me is through Canvas email.  I'm always available Monday through Friday, between 9 and 11.  Even after those hours, I'll usually be able to respond to an email within a few hours (48 hours at the absolute most).

This section of English 1AS is an online, asynchronous class. “Asynchronous” means that we won’t be meeting all together at a scheduled time; instead, we’ll all be working together online at various times, finishing weekly modules. All course materials will be finished and submitted remotely, meeting weekly deadlines.

Each weekly module builds upon the last, so even though you’ll be able to work according to your own schedule, you’ll need to complete each weekly module before you can move on to the next.  Although there will be no required Zoom meetings, though there may be some optional ones in which we meet for live lectures, discussions, questions.  If so, they’ll be scheduled in advance, and recorded so that even if you can’t make it, you can catch up with what went on.  

Checking in: Please plan to log into the course on Monday, January 29th 2024 so I can ensure everyone has access to the course material. If you don't log in by the end of the day on Wednesday January 31st, be prepared to receive a friendly nudge from me. Those who have not logged on and/or completed the initial log on activities could lose their seat to a waiting student!
