As soon as the new semester starts, you may begin the course on your own. CCSF emails instructions on how to login to CCSF's Canvas system. If you have not received these instructions, you most likely are not checking the account that CCSF has on file as your email address. Unless you have set it up otherwise, the default is the mail.ccsf.edu address assigned to you by the college.
I will facilitate in-person sessions on Every Mondays and Wednesdays during the 12-week instruction, 8:40-10:45 a.m. in Science 300 at Ocean campus.
If you are trying to register for this class before instruction begins, and the class is closed you may place yourself on the waitlist.
If a student in this class drops and a seat becomes available, you will be notified by an email sent to your CCSF email account. You have 24 hours to register for the class once the email has been sent. If you do not register in that time frame, you will be removed from the waitlist and the next student on the list will be offered the opportunity to register for the class.
I will recommend you to monitor your waitlist status daily in your email account and in myRAM Portal to ensure you will not miss your opportunity to register for the class.
When the instruction starts, you may request to add in this class.
Here is how you start the Add process:
Starting the first day of class, go to MyRam Portal at MyCCSF.
Click the Student Portal tile.
Click on the bullet point titled Class Add Request.
Select the term (Fall or Spring + Year)
Enter the CRN number XXXXX of this class
Click "GO"
I will start adding students after the 1st day of instruction. I will check add request daily. However, I will not likely to approve add request after the 2nd week of instruction.
I will approve you if this class is not full. You will receive an email notification. You will have to register for the class within 48 hours after my approval. If you do not register after 48 hours of my approval, I will rescind the offer.
I will recommend you to monitor your add status daily in your email account and in myRAM Portal to ensure you will not miss your opportunity to register for the class.
In addition, the Drop policy is based on attendance. In an online class, attendance = participation. Simply logging in to the course does not count as attendance or participation. Attendance will be taken based on your submitting lab assignments weekly. If you fail to submit weekly lab assignment(s) when due, you will be marked absent for that week.. There are three different ways that I may drop you from the course,
If you do not engage in the first week of class and complete the first module by the due dates,
If you have two consecutive weeks of absences before Last Date Of Withdrawal
If you cumulatively miss more than 30% of all assignments before the Last Date Of Withdrawal
