I started teaching Spanish in 2005 and have been a Spanish instructor at World Languages and Cultures at City College of San Francisco since 2018. I have been teaching a variety of Spanish levels: Introductory, intermediate, and advanced; Spanish for Heritage Speakers; advanced composition and grammar, and conversation. I have created content courses mainly based on Hispanic and Latin American culture, such as Introduction to Latin American Culture, Imagining Latin America, Contemporary Latin American Narrative, Crónica contemporánea latinoamericana, Introduction to Literature in Spanish, and Introduction to Hispanic Culture.
I studied Literatura Hispanoamericana in Tijuana, México at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (U.A.B.C). I hold a bachelor's degree in Spanish from San Diego State University (SDSU) with a minor in Chicana/o Studies. I completed my Master's degree at SDSU, too. I continued my studies in a doctoral program, with all coursework completed, but no dissertation submitted.
