Course Information

This course will explore the major events and cultural trends that shaped the United States between the Civil War and the Great Depression. We will begin by tackling the complexities of our nation's original sin, slavery. We then move on to examining race, gender, and class as significant factors that drove the close of the nineteenth century. The course will end by asking where is the United State's role in the world, and how do our policies and actions influence the global community.

Add/Drop Information

Students will not be able to add this course after the first module is complete.

Students will be dropped from the course if they are behind in two modules due to:

  1. Not logging into the course or not showing up for on-site sessions

  2. Student completes less than 50% of a module throughout the course

Students will receive a courtesy email when they have become deficient in one module in order to get caught up.
