Hello!

My name is Mark Kozar. I was born and raised in Western New York and I currently reside on the west side of Buffalo. When I am not teaching or preparing lessons, I enjoy riding my bike, going to concerts, spending time with my family and supporting our local sports teams!

I earned my undergraduate degree in Communications and English with high honors from the University at Buffalo. While I began my career in the entertainment and technology service sectors, my true passion and calling is in educating children. This realization came through several discussions with family members who had worked in the corporate environment and made a change to the classroom. I am inspired by these family members—past and present—and I strive to have a profound impact on educating our youth, just as members of my family are doing. My educational background and work experience provides me with a unique perspective and skillset that enables me to flourish in the classroom and inspire children to achieve their very best everyday.

I completed my Master's degree in childhood education graduating with high honors from SUNY Buffalo State College in May 2022. I currently hold my initial NYS Certification for Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), along with my initial NYS Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6).

I completed my first full year of teaching in an elementary school setting as a building based sub and an ENL teacher in 2023. I am currently at the same school as a Kindergarten teacher and I look forward to a great career educating our youth in the years to come.
