I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Millikin University. My research is currently in category theory and Legendrian knot theory. Specifically I work with framed Legendrian tangles in Euclidean 3-space and use strict monoidal categories to develop new Legendrian knot invariants.
Prior to working at Millikin University, I received my Ph.D in Mathematics from the University of Iowa under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Cooper. In addition, I obtained a Masters of Arts in Mathematics from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelors of Science from Bradley University where I majored in Mathematics and minored in Physics.
In my free time I enjoy playing volleyball and pickleball. I also regularly attend different sporting events and explore various National Parks across the country.
