The Bradley Bravettes Dance Team is the official Dance Team of Bradley University. A collegiate dance team made up of dedicated dancers, their style of dance usually consists of Jazz, Pom and Hip Hop. You can see the Bravettes on the sidelines and dancing at half-time at home basketball games and soccer games, as well as the annual Missouri Valley Conference in St. Louis. The Bravettes also represent Bradley University at many university and community events, such as Lighting of the B, Little Bravettes Kids Camp and dance team clinics. Go Braves!
The Bravettes originally date back to the 80s, where they danced as a team until they were disbanded near the end of the decade. Bradley went for many years without an official dance team until 2003, when Jill Crouch and Nina Butler convinced Bradley University to allow them to start the Bravettes again. The first tryouts were held in 2004, and the original team was only nine dancers, with Kara Girsch as the first four year member of the team . Before the Markin Recreation Center was built, the Bravettes bused to practice facilities at various studios in Pekin and Morton. Once Markin was completed in 2008, the Bravettes moved their practices back on campus. Over the years, the Bravettes have performed at women's basketball games, men's soccer games, and men's basketball games. In 2023, captains Izzy Fontane and Abby Poulos earned the team the club sport designation. In 2024, Captains Leah Reed and Paige Hall created the BUDT Competition Team, and earned the team a Divisional Title at the UDA Chicagoland Classic in 2025. The Bravettes are a resilient student organization dedicated to representing the spirit of Bradley.
