Hello and welcome to my classroom! My name is Miss Ferrara and I am so happy to be your child's 3rd grade teacher. Ever since I was little, I knew that teaching was my calling in life, and I am so blessed that I get to share this passion with your children. Watching my students learn and grow is the greatest gift I could ever ask for.
Some facts about me:
I graduated from Adelphi University in May of 2026 with my Masters in Childhood Education, as well as with an extension in Early Childhood Education and an Advanced Certificate in Students with Disabilities.
I worked 3 years as an assistant teacher at a nursery school throughout my time studying at Adelphi, working with children from the ages of 2-5 years old. I also student taught in 3rd and 4th grade during my graduate year, as well as worked as a substitute teacher in the school where I student taught, earning me experience with children in grades second through fifth. I also tutored elementary and middle school students, assisting them with homework, reviewing for tests, and bolstering their confidence in understanding the expected material.
In my free time, I love to read, listen to music, spend time outside, go for walks, or go to the beach!
My Philosophy: I believe that learning is the most effective when it promotes excitement, curiosity, and creativity. In my classroom, students are driven to learn through hands-on and multisensory activities and exploration, immersive real-world engagement, interactive read alouds and projects, and opportunities to collaborate with others.
