Maria serves as Legislative Director to Rep. Joe Courtney (CT-02) where she handles the Education and Labor Committee and health policy portfolios. Maria graduated with her Bachelor’s from Simmons College in Boston, MA and her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Maryland School of Public Health. She hails from Massachusetts, and has served as staff to Members of Congress from New England since 2013.

Peter currently serves as Senator Murphy's legislative assistant covering education, disability, LGBTQ, and college sports policy. His passion for educational equity comes from his time in the classroom, having taught middle school math in the Mississippi. Peter is a proud product of diverse public schools -- including a magnet school - and believes every child should have the same opportunities to attend schools that reflect the diversity of our country.
