I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, where I lead the Dreams Lab (Data-driven Research in Experimental Analytics, Modeling, and Sensing).
My research focuses on advancing experimental fluid mechanics through the integration of data-driven modeling, flow sensing, and computational simulations. I work on problems involving non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, vortex-induced vibrations, pressure estimation, and hybrid experimental–numerical frameworks that combine measurements with CFD for enhanced accuracy and physical understanding.
At Dreams Lab, my team develops innovative experimental methods that connect ultrasonic velocity profiling (UVP), particle image velocimetry (PIV), and pressure- and temperature-sensitive paints (PSP/TSP) with computational models to enable real-time flow diagnostics. Our research emphasizes improving the temporal and spatial resolution of flow fields using sensor-assisted and data-driven techniques.
Overall, my goal is to build data-driven experimental platforms that bridge the gap between laboratory measurements and computational predictions—paving the way for smarter, more accurate flow sensing and process modeling applicable to a wide range of industries including energy.
