Be a Bucket Filler!
"Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. "
The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL)
Madison County Primary School is excited to announce that we have adopted a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum called Second Step. The elementary years are amazing years to nurture social emotional health and develop skills necessary for life-long learning. The new digital Second Step curriculum provides instruction that is divided into the following four units: growth mindset and goal-setting, emotion management, empathy and kindness, and problem solving. All classrooms will be holding class meetings on a daily basis to build their classroom community where the lessons are taught and reinforced throughout the week.
