My name is Ms. Amanda Fox.  I was born and raised in Bakersville, North Carolina, located in Mitchell County.  I attended Mars Hill College and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in History.  I began my teaching career at Mars Hill Elementary, where I taught Kindergarten for 10 years.  After taking a year off after the birth of my son, Remington, I embarked on a new endeavor, teaching preschool!  I taught the three year old class for 6 years at the Mars Hill UMC Preschool.  I came to Madison Early College in 2020 and after serving in various roles here, I began my teaching career in Exceptional Children in 2024.  I love serving ALL children and consider it an honor and privilege to be at Madison Early College!  Students in my classroom know that I provide a nurturing environment where kindness and respect are offered and expected in return.  

As I mentioned earlier, I have one son, Remington.  He is an 8th grader at Madison Middle School.  He is the joy of my life and sure keeps me laughing.  In my spare time, I enjoy walking, listening to music and reading.
