Ms. Amanda's Class
Exceptional Children's Teacher & ACA Facilitator
Exceptional Children's Teacher:  This is my third year serving as the Exceptional Children's Teacher at Madison Early College. As an EC Teacher, I have the wonderful honor of providing specially designed instruction to several of our students each week. ALL students are welcome to come see me at anytime during the school day for any need they may have. I thoroughly enjoy working with students in a small group setting to ensure academic and social needs are fostered. I provide my students with a caring and nurturing environment where kindness and respect are modeled and expected.
ACA 122: For many freshmen, this class will be their first college course at MECHS. Our class meets during 4th period, Monday through Friday in Room 202. Students in this class will be provided with information and strategies necessary to help acclimate them to a college environment. The course covers college policies and culture, career exploration, gathering information, planning, critical thinking, and communications skills to help make a successful academic transition.  Material for this course is presented by a professor at AB Tech and students are required to submit assignments weekly. My job as facilitator, is to ensure students are on task and assignments are turned in on time. I enjoy working with these students as they begin to navigate the beginning of their college experience!Â
