We work on standards two years above grade level. We use a mixture of trade books, electronic resources, and novels. Students write narrative, opinion, and informative writing pieces.
Monthly genre book projects are assigned for homework.
Here are the upcoming genres and the corresponding months and due dates:
September: Mystery Due: Thursday Sept. 25th
November: Biography Due: Monday November 24th
December: Poetry Due: Tuesday December 16th
January/ February: Adventure Due: Thursday February 19th
April: Fantasy Due: Thursday April 23rd
May: DEP Essay Due Friday May 1st Presentation Due: Week of May 4th
