Hannah Jones, M.A., NBCT

As the Assistive Technology Specialist in the Madison School District, my responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess, research, and recommend appropriate assistive technology for students

  • Provide modeling and training to students, parents, and staff

  • Collaborate with team members including general education teachers, special education teachers, speech language pathologists, teacher of the visually impaired, teacher of the hearing impaired

2021-2022 is my fourth year in the Madison School District. I have a wide range of experience in my 15 years in the special education setting.

  • 2 years as a high school special education teacher

  • 6 years as an elementary special education teacher

  • 7 years as an Assistive Technology Specialist

I have my bachelor's degrees in Special Education and English-Literature, as well as my Master of Arts in Special Education - all from Arizona State University (Go Devils!). I also achieved National Board Certification in 2012, which is the highest honor a teacher can receive.

In addition to my school-based setting as a teacher and an AT Specialist, I also provide professional development to beginning and veteran teachers, and support teachers pursuing National Board Certification.

I am beyond thrilled to be working in Madison - my family lives in Central Phoenix and our children attend Madison schools.
