Class overview

We will implement Into Algebra for the first quarter and Reveal Math for the second quarter. This will allow us to gather valuable feedback from both students and teachers regarding each program's effectiveness in meeting our educational objectives.

For the first quarter of the academic year, we will be piloting Into Algebra, which is based on the Singapore math approach. Singapore math is known for its strong foundation in conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and real-world applications.

During the second quarter, we plan to pilot Reveal Math, a comprehensive and innovative math program designed to foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through meaningful and engaging activities.

By December, we aim to make an informed decision based on the data and insights collected during the piloting process. Once the decision is made, we will continue with the selected curriculum for the remainder of the school year, ensuring a seamless learning experience for our students.

Same Concepts, Different Delivery:

It is essential to note that, despite the change in curriculum, our students will learn all of the same concepts they would have covered using Saxon Math. The content remains aligned with educational standards, ensuring that our students receive a well-rounded and comprehensive math education.

Additionally, as a math department, we still believe in the principle of spiraled learning.  As such students will still be getting review in various formats (knowledge checks, homework, classwork, etc.) that addresses previously covered topics in this class and past grades.

Our Commitment to Excellence:

At MTA, our commitment to providing quality education remains unwavering. We are dedicated to ensuring that each student receives the best possible math instruction to foster their academic growth and success. The pilot process allows us to explore alternative methods of delivering math instruction, ultimately leading to an even more enriched learning environment.
