Working in the lab was an enjoyable experience. I was able to learn a lot about how to work with trial and error to find the right method of analysing data. I also learned more about how scientists work together to share knowledge across fields to better overall understanding. My experience was much different from my high school science experience as I had the ability to explore what the data was saying and come up with unique comparisons instead of following a rigid form of analysis. What I have learned over the summer is that science is a very fluid process, as new information is found, the goals and process changes.
This experience has shown me that I enjoy doing science research and I would like to continue that when I go to college. While I don’t plan on majoring in climate science, I would love to learn more about it.
