Scholastic Book Clubs Class Orders

I will be placing Scholastic Reading Club orders throughout the year for our classroom library and for any of you who would like to order. Scholastic has great prices on good, quality books that kids love to read and is a great way to build your home library. Their program also allows us to choose books for our classroom library, as our class earns points with each order. I plan to submit orders on the last working day of each month, but if you need something before then, please email me! I can make special orders. Click the red Scholastic Book Clubs button to the left to start your order!

AR Reading

Completing the 20 minutes per night reading homework will allow your child to reach their goal!

To check your child's progress, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Renaissance Place Home Connect button above.
  2. Log in using your child's RenPlace credentials (credentials are in his planner, and this process should be very familiar to your child).
  3. You should be able to see recent quizzes taken, scores, progress towards the AR goal, and more as you navigate this page.
  4. In the top right corner, you will see a link for "Email Setup." If you click this link, you can set it up so you will be emailed when your student takes an AR test.

Wonders

How to Access Wonders Online:

  1. Click on button above.
  2. Use your child's login information to access the website (found in their planner).
  3. Click on Reading Wonders Grade 3.
  4. To access textbooks, click on the Resources at the top of the page. The Reading/Writing Workshop book will have more information about the weekly skills. Often times, if your child is absent, I will assign them pages from this book to study. You can also find grammar practice, the spelling practice pages (phonics/spelling reproducibles), and even a digital copy of our workbook.
  5. I can open up a past test in order for parents and students to review it. This will be only for the specified window, and will be available by clicking the "To Do" button on the left of the camel and parrot. Please let me know if there is a test you would like to review with your child so I can make it available to you.
  6. You can also find games and more to help practice skills! Just explore!

IXL

How to Access IXL:

  1. Click on button above.
  2. Use your child's login information to access the website (found in their planner).
  3. If you go to the Unit Overview found under Mrs. Mayfield's main page, you will see which practice lessons match up with our weekly skills. The first number is the "grade" you will find the skill under, and the following letter/number combination will direct you to the specific lesson (ex. 3.I.2 = third grade lesson I.2).
