In 2017-2018, the ALSDE formed a group to create the DLCS Standards. With these standards, the expectation is that every student has an opportunity to engage with these standards, K-12, and responsible digital citizens with computational problem solving skills by the time they graduate. As such, each grade level has specific standards that should be addressed, primarily through content areas, to reinforce 21st century skills needed for college and future careers.
A team of secondary educators from different grades and content areas crosswalked the DLCS standards with content standards and provided a recommended activity to help teachers implement the standards. As you navigate the website, you will see it divided into grades, then content area, then a document detailed which content standard has an associated DLCS standard.
