I have worked in the school mental health field for over a decade. I serve as both the elementary counselor and the school psychologist for all grade levels. I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). I hold both a Master's and Ed.S degree from the University of Kentucky and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Morehead State University. I am a lifelong learner. I'm currently working toward an EKU graduate certificate in Play Therapy. I am a member of the Kentucky Association for Psychology in the Schools (KAPS), the Kentucky School Counselor Association (KSCA), the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT). I served as the 2016-2017 President of the School Media & Technology (SMT) division of AECT.

School Counseling Approach & Philosophy

It view supporting the social-emotional development of Model's students as an honor and privilege. My goal is to create classroom guidance lessons that present content in a fun, interactive manner. If guidance class can't be fun, then what can? My lesson content is pulled from a variety of sources and approaches including the Mutt-i-grees curriculum from Yale University, Paws in Jobland, Bibliotherapy resources, Educational Technology resources, Art Therapy, etc. My approach is guided by the American School Counseling Association practice model.
