2022 RYHO Virtual Celebration

Eighteen years strong, Read Your Heart Out is back this February bringing Black families and community members together through live and recorded readings for MMSD students. In celebration of National African American Parent Involvement Day, schools across the district will participate in RYHO all month long.

Watch this year's Read Your Heart Out Virtual Kick-off Celebration right here - a special event featuring a live virtual reading by Superintendent Dr. Carlton Jenkins, MMSD scholars singing "Lift Every Voice and Sing", and a welcome from Ms. Carolyn Stanford-Taylor, Assistant Superintendent of Engagement, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Please also check out a short video of our very own MMSD scholars sharing words of wisdom from African American leaders right here.
