Raising the Banner High
Raising the Banner High
This year at Madison C-3, the Panthers are chasing something big. The school's theme for the year is "A Banner Year," and it's an invitation for every student, teacher, and staff member to make the next nine months count.
A banner is a symbol of achievement, the kind of accomplishment you hang up for everyone to see. But the theme is about more than trophies and championships. It's about setting meaningful goals, raising expectations, and doing the work to reach them. A banner year might look like a personal best in the classroom, a new leadership role, a stronger team, or a kinder hallway. It can be as wide as each Panther wants it to be.
At its core, the theme is about challenge. Students are encouraged to push themselves a little further than they thought they could go, and to push each other, too. Lifting the people around us, holding one another to a higher standard, and celebrating progress along the way are what turn individual effort into a school-wide success.
The theme is already showing up around campus. The digital media team has created a "Banner Year" media lock logo in purple, gold, and white, which now appears across the school's social media accounts and the school newspaper. The yearbook staff is hard at work on this year's book, designed to support the theme and capture the moments that make this year one to remember. Hallway bulletin boards are also getting in on the act, showing Panther pride and the promise of a banner year.
So, Panthers, the goal is set. Aim high, work hard, and make it a banner year.

Fall Softball
Madison C-3 softball came out swinging this fall, and the Panthers are working to turn a strong start into a big finish.
Leading the way are three returning seniors: pitcher Lizzy Dameron, shortstop Kaylee Knight, and catcher Sienna Brush. Their experience anchors the middle of the diamond, and their leadership sets the tone for the whole roster. Returning juniors and sophomores help round out the infield, and a group of promising freshmen is already showing flashes of what's to come in the years ahead.
The Panthers have hit a few tough games along the way, but that's exactly the kind of challenge a banner year is built on. The team is focused on grinding out the fundamentals, sharpening the little things, and making a strong showing at districts.
Two special dates are coming up for Panther fans. The annual Pink Out is Monday, September 28, so wear your pink and come support the team and a great cause. On Tuesday, September 29, the Panthers will celebrate Senior Night, honoring Dameron, Knight, and Brush. It will be hard to watch three seniors close in on their final games of fall Panther softball, so come out and give them the send-off they've earned.

Fall Baseball
Fall baseball is a season of rebuilding for the Panthers. Four seniors from last year's squad have graduated, and they were a main source of defense in the infield as well as offensive production and pitching. Seniors Jacob Fish and Brady Bollman are the two who remain, and they now carry the load of leadership for a younger roster. Juniors round out the infield as the team practices, builds, and works to compete. Every rep is aimed at one goal: giving the Panthers a head start on the main spring season. A banner year is built on the work done long before the big games, and this group is laying that foundation now.
Trapshooting
The Madison FFA trapshooting team is also in a rebuilding season. Four seniors who were consistent, key shooters have moved on, and the team fell short at the area competition. But the Panthers are doing far more than moving on. Returning seniors John MacNamara, Jacob Fish, and Lizzy Dameron are helping shape the future of the program, and they are surrounded by underclassmen who are eager to learn and ready to step up. With that kind of leadership and enthusiasm, the team is building toward a banner year of its own.
