English 9 Students:

You may choose to read this novel and complete an assignment the first week of class for a bonus grade to be added to your first nine weeks average. You will want to annotate as you read to assist you in your culminating assignment. This is a great way to start off your Freshman English experience!

Honors English 9 Students:

Your summer reading assignment is to read and annotate the novel, Animal Farm, by George Orwell.

Every honors English student is expected to read the novel prior to the first day of English class. Use your time wisely since you will not know your schedule until a few days before school starts in August.

Your Honors English 9 teachers strongly recommend that you annotate the text as you read as this will be useful to you in the discussions and activities that correlate to the novel.
