During the first semester, students have been working hard to put together this even while also learning along the way. Using the text Read Kids, Real Stories, Real Change, students gained inspiration to make a difference in the world and then conducted research to create context for a community need, created booths to raise awareness for their cause, hand-crafted ceramic bowls to symbolize all the empty bowls around the world, and organized this dinner event as a fundraiser to raise money for local and international organizations that aim to put an end of poverty, homelessness, and hunger.
This project, which took place in social studies, language arts, and art class, is a group effort by ALL 7th graders who hopefully learned many lessons long the way. Feel free to check out the link below to hear directly from students about what they learned and how we can make the world a better place!
