Sailing Dream Came About Way Back In 2002, When I Was A Young Lad Working In Mallorca, Alcudia, I Used To Wander Down To The Marina And Admire These Beautiful Creatures On The Water, Awaiting Their Masters To Set Sail On An Unknown Adventure!

Finally It Was A Glorious Hot Summers Day Of 2016. Living In A Little City Within The Centre Of England. ‘‘Oh DEAR! I Couldn’t Be Any Further From The Sea’’. 

I Had Made A Decision, I Will Travel Down To Portsmouth And Ask About Sailing Lessons.

Young Lady That Came To Offer Me Advice Said: 

Do You Want To See The Boat, We Train You On?

ME: In My Excitement ',“Wow”, Yes Please. 

As We Were Walking Down The Pontoon, The Young Lady Then Said:

You Will Get The Bug You Know? 

Me: “Uh” What?, I Don't Know If I Like The Sea?

Surely Enough There And Then I Found Myself Filling Out The Paper Work For A Competent Crew Course. 

‘‘What Happened, Have I Lost My Marbles?’’

The Training Weekend.

It Was A Bank Holiday Weekend, 6 Pm, Friday Evening. 

The Weather Was Glorious. I Was Introduced To My Ship Mates, We Were All A Little Nervous And Quiet. 

After The Safety Brief, We All Went For Something To Eat And A Bit Of Uncomfortable Small Talk. 

You Know The Sort Of Conversation? 

“You Don't Know Each Other, But Try To Find A Common Ground, Get To Know Each Other A Little, Ready For The Weekend”.

Around 7.30am, We All Woke, Washed Changed And Well Fed, Ready For The Day Ahead.

Skipper Gave Us All Our Duty's. We Then Headed Out On The Solent A Body Of Water Between England And The Isle Of Wight. 

The Sails Went Up, It Was Now My Turn To Helm. 

Sea State Was A Little Choppy, The Wind Cracked In The Sails, I Felt A Sudden Lift As She Took Off Through The Water. 

That Was Me Hooked, “By Golly The Girl Was Right” 

And Now Here I Am Few Years Later Day Skipper Level, Found Myself A Perfect Little Boat, It Was Time To Sail Off And Make Madventures Of My Own. 

Aboard A Little Ship With A Big Heart ‘‘Thetis’’.
