Medium: fabric dye, cold wax on cotton fabric.
This textile piece was inspired by the ‘Wonder bread’ series by Sister Corita Kent, an American pop artist, educator and advocate for social justice.
Each artist painted the shape of the Eucharist onto fabric using cold wax and fabric dye. The individual artworks were sewn together to make a quilt, symbolising congregation at the Lord’s table. Wadding, inserted into the centre, and metallic embroidery thread complete the work.
