This self-portrait is a painting inspired by the illustrative and colourful style of artist Laura Callaghan. My composition was intended to reflect my personal identity within the safe space of my bedroom. The meanings and messages of my personal identity and how I express my true self to others is at the core of the work, conveyed through subtle symbols and objects placed around the room.
