My focus was to recreate the images that I imagined while reading. I have always relished the way reading can transport us away from the worries of everyday life, immersed in a world that is not our own. I was influenced by the art of portraiture, creating life-like faces that contain the emotion and expression of a real-life person. I combined these interests by using my imagination to create portraits of my favourite book characters.
