Education and technology are rapidly changing, and so is Macmillan Learning. We developed the Achieve Innovation Lab to accelerate research and testing of new and innovative ideas.
Features available under this label are currently being tested, and are not yet an official part of Achieve.
We value exploration and lifelong learning both in our products and in our own process. The Innovation Lab is a label for new ideas and functional prototypes that are put to the test in the real world with Achieve users. Our goal is to continue to create, learn, and adapt quickly, so that we can focus on what matters most to our users.
Like all of Achieve's features, weeks or months of dedicated research and validation must happen before they make it to the Innovation Lab. Everything we do is co-designed with a diverse array of instructors, students, learning researchers, user experience designers, and many more.
Features that make it to the Innovation Lab are not yet a part of the final product. This means that implementation and integration may vary and full support is not guaranteed. However, your feedback will have a greater impact on the evolution and success of these features than ever.
All Innovation Lab features are free to Achieve users and may only need you to sign-up to take part. Others may already be already available in Achieve (with the Innovation Lab label) and require no further steps. As of August 2020 there is only one feature available as an Innovation Lab feature: The Goal-setting and Reflection Surveys.
Each feature may work differently and therefore be accessed via different websites or methods.
The Goal-setting and Reflection surveys are available in all Achieve courses (except Achieve Read and Practice) in the Achieve Innovation Lab folder within the Table of Contents of the Resources Tab. However, the new survey insights and reports are not available within Achieve and must be delivered securely to each instructor who assigns a survey via the email address associated with their Achieve account.
Each feature may have different requirements or limits on the number of participants depending on the content or functionality.
There is only one feature available at this time– the Goal-setting and Reflection surveys. Over time, there will be more ideas that enter the Lab and we will be sure to let everyone know when it happens and keep our documentation updated.
For any concerns, problems, or questions relating to any Innovation Lab features, contact innovationlab@macmillan.com. Do not contact the typical support contacts that you would for other Achieve-related concerns.
When using an Innovation Lab feature you are agreeing to use a feature that is undergoing testing and is not yet a part of the paid product. Integration and functionality will vary depending on the feature.
You can contact us directly at innovationlab@macmillan.com or via other methods that may be presented to you within Achieve or the feature you are testing. While Macmillan Learning is always seeking and learning from user feedback and, the Innovation Lab is the best place to share your thoughts and ideas and is highly encouraged! It is here that your voice can have some of the greatest impact on the final development of these solutions.
That answer will vary, but we will be sure to notify you when there are updates on this, especially if you are using or have used an Innovation Lab feature in the past.
