The proposal seeks to provide affordable accommodation comprising of 3no, 2 Storey, 3 Bed, 5 Person Homes on a vacant garage site to the north of Broyle close in Ringmer. The scheme aligns the units in a north south orientation and locates the houses toward the northern boundary to keep the new houses away from the existing properties fronting onto Broyle close. Through the use of different materials and stepping volumes the mass of the housing has been kept to a minimum. Any perceived overlooking from the first floor has been removed through the use of angled oriel windows which obscure any direct views from habitable rooms.

The proposal Includes Roof integrated Photovoltaic s, with the potential for Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery and Rainwater harvesting, to produce a scheme with low running costs for residents and a reduced carbon footprint as the Local Authority looks towards the future of Zero Carbon development.

The scheme will drastically reduce the amount of hard standing on site by enhancing planting including additional trees as well as private gardens, with an overall increase in soft landscaped area of 153% as compared to as existing. Access will remain as existing from Broyle close via a communal shared driveway with each property benefiting from a good sized garden with secure cycle parking provision and a 2 car driveway including Electronic Vehicle charging points.
