Reading Identity 2020

MacEwan English Department Student Conference

February 7 - 8, 2020 • MacEwan University • Edmonton, AB Canada

What Reading Identity Is All About

Reading Identity is a two-day, student-organized conference focusing on English Literature and Creative Writing, hosted by MacEwan's English Department.

This event will interest students and faculty in English, Humanities, and the Arts. Our conference provides a unique forum for undergraduates to share their academic work and receive feedback in a collegial, informal, and intimate environment. Attendees will get to participate in lively academic conversations and network with students and faculty from MacEwan and beyond.

Conference Format

Day One of Reading Identity consists of keynote lecture on Friday at 4 p.m., followed by a reception.

Day Two consists of a series of panels, in which students from MacEwan and other universities will read their academic or creative work, followed by discussion and questions from the audience and faculty moderators. There are 4 sessions running throughout the day, with a break for lunch at noon. Lunch will be provided.
