Welcome to the website for MacEwan University's English Student Conference, held on campus 2-3 February 2024.
Held regularly, this event is a two-day conference for and led by undergraduate students, focusing on English Literature and Creative Writing.
Hosted by MacEwan's English Department, it is open to participants from across Alberta.
Of interest to undergraduate students and faculty in English, Humanities, and the Arts, our conference provides a unique forum for undergraduates to share their academic and creative work and receive feedback in a collegial, informal, and intimate environment. Attendees will get to participate in lively conversations and network with students and faculty from MacEwan and beyond.
Each time the conference its held, Day One consists of a keynote lecture, followed by a reception, on Friday.
Day Two, Saturday, consists of a series of panels, in which students from MacEwan and other universities read their academic or creative work, followed by discussion and questions from the audience and faculty moderators. There are several sessions running throughout the day, with a break for lunch. Lunch is be provided.
