This year, the EDNA 2026 Spring Meeting will be held Friday, May 15, and will be preceded by a 1-day symposium on Thursday, May 14. The symposium will offer the educational development community an opportunity to share and discuss topics related to the theme, Cultivating Our Craft. The Spring Meeting will follow this theme as we consider next steps.
"Cultivating our Craft"
We all find our way to educational development in myriad ways, but once here, we are responsible for using our own teaching experiences, knowledge of current trends and issues in higher education teaching and learning, and personal creativity and flexibility to support faculty development. But who, then, helps us develop as developers? We're a pretty autodidactic bunch, but that doesn't mean we don't need our own developmental support or that it doesn't exist; we just might need to uncover where to look for it! The symposium will explore how professional development for Educational Development through panel discussion, sessions/round tables, and other activities.
The EDNA Spring meeting will continue in the theme of the symposium, taking the discussions and knowledge gained from the previous day and begin to create action plans that we can take back to our respective institutions. Plans for the individual, department, and institution will be considered. The meeting will also allow time for different institutions to share updates around the overarching theme, and a message from EDNA's Chair, Cosette Lemelin.
