TalkSpot is a mental health service exclusively for Mac Eng students. TalkSpot offers informal, confidential consultations with a counsellor through same-day appointments every weekday. You can share what’s on your mind to get perspective, problem-solve and hear suggestions for resources or supports.
Available to all undergraduate and graduate students within the Faculty of Engineering
Offered first-come, first-served with no waitlist or intake assessment
Up to 50 minutes in length, either in person or virtual
Not a substitute for psychiatric diagnosis and treatment
Not appropriate for urgent concerns or mental health emergencies

The Student Walk Home Attendant Team (SWHAT) is a volunteer service within the McMaster Students Union that will walk or bus with users during the evening hours, 7 days a week, from September through April.
A walk home with SWHAT includes a team of two walkers. They will not have obvious uniforms, but they will identify themselves to you. As well, all walkers are equipped with a flashlight and a radio to allow communication with the SWHAT office and McMaster Security as required. No matter the weather, our walkers can walk with you to your destination while providing safety and company – we also have umbrellas to help keep you dry!

The MSU Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) is a peer-run health advocacy, information and resource connection service for McMaster University students. It's services include:
Free tangible health supplies (Safe(r) sex supplies, Pregnancy tests, Menstrual products, Personal health supplies, Parenting/Baby items, Substance use harm reduction supplies)
Confidential peer support that can be accessed in-person (in MUSC 202) or online (via chat, video, or phone call — more details are forthcoming and will be released on our social media handles)
