The Alexandria Center for Children
The Alexandria Center for Children helps to end child abuse.
Intervention: We are a nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Center.
Prevention: We host and facilitate eleven weekly Learn&PlayGroups ™ and monthly Pop-Up Learn&PlayGroups™ for parents and caregivers with their children ages 0-5 at areas in the city identified as at-risk.
Education: We offer certified training, based on Stewards of Children’s Darkness to Light program, which teaches how to mitigate and prevent child sexual abuse. We also offer a modified training for adults, a part of the Learn&PlayGroup program called Healthy Touch.
Crisis Provisions: Through ALX Closet, we provide needed clothing and toiletries and are committed to coordinating through partnerships with the city’s agencies and other organizations to serve children and families with the resources they need.
Below you will find the Weekly Schedule for the Learn&PlayGroup Schedule. I do want to mention that our PlayGroups are primarily for families with limited resources.
