Tom (he/him) has been Technical Director, guest designer and instructor at Macalester since 1990. He has worked throughout the Twin Cities as a scenic and lighting designer and technical director.
Ian Birchall '27
Props Designer
Ian(he/him) is a Junior classics major with a concentration in archaeology at Macalester college. He has worked in stage management and sound departments in past Mac shows, Dracula and Eurydice, and is excited to now be working on bringing the physical space of Romeo and Juliet to life through props.
Sylva Bohannon '28
Assistant Director, Media Designer
Sylva (she/they) is a sophomore at Macalester, majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Theater and Biology. She recently acted in Macalester’s fall play, the 39 Steps, and has been thrilled to step into the Assistant Director position for Romeo and Juliet. She would like to thank her parents, Anna and Rick, for always supporting her acting and directing dreams!
Emelia Brinkley '26
Production Assistant
Emelia Brinkley (they/them) is a senior Environmental Studies major and Performance Design and Technologies minor. They work as a production assistant and carpenter in the Theater and Dance department. They would like to congratulate everyone on all their hard work on this production!
Claire Emison
Wardrobe Crew
Claire Emison (she/her) is a senior Biology and Environmental Studies double major. She is a Theater Department costume technician interested in clothing repair and fashion sustainability. She enjoyed working on the variety of costumes for this show!
Brian Fox
Technical Director
Brian Fox (He/Him) has been Technical Assistant at Macalester since 2018, with a few pandemic inspired breaks. He got his start building sets with the Montana Shakespeare Company, and worked in the Scene Shop as a Macalester student, contributing in varying capacities to show in the old building such as The Glass Menagerie and As You Like It. Highlights of his work include a large curved staircase in The Rocky Horror Show, a rolling staircase in Angels in America, and a slide in Thunderbodies.
Marybeth Gagner
Costume Designer
MaryBeth Gagner (she/her) has spent over 20 years in education – designing over 40 shows and dance pieces and teaching a wide range of courses in theater and fashion. In addition to costume design, she has managed a number of costume shops. Her collaborative skills have been further honed by costume work throughout the Twin Cities. Most recently she has designed at the Ordway, St. Paul Ballet, Park Square Theatre, Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater, and James Sewell Ballet. Personal and professional connections have been essential to her development as an artist and have been supported through her involvement in USITT, Costume Enclave, and the Costume Society of America.
Wu Chen Khoo
Lighting Designer, Production Manager
Wu Chen Khoo (he/him) is a lighting designer, stagehand, production manager and labour organizer. He is based in Minneapolis and works internationally. Some of his lighting designs have been seen at Penumbra Theatre, Theater Mu, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Stages Theatre Company, Pangea World Theatre, the Fitzgerald Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, the Guthrie Theater and Mixed Blood Theater. He co-founded the education program Technical Tools of the Trade, which aimed to train, connect and support people through the skills of technical theatre. He is a founding member of the Class & the Arts collective and The Mothership, both groups of workers organizing to build Solidarity and hold space for critical engagement with issues of social justice including through the arts & entertainment industry. He is a proud member of IATSE, the union representing many of the technical workers in the arts and entertainment industry. He shares his life with his partner Kristin and children Teng Jin and Yi Lian.

K Marie Mielke (she/they) is a multidisciplinary theatre artist with a BA from Augsburg University. She is extremely grateful to have been a stitcher on this production. Recent design credits include costumes: A Christmas Carol… More or Less at Yellow Tree Theatre, Newsies Jr. at The FAIR School in Crystal, The Dining Room at Saint Paul Academy, and props: Crazy for You at Maple Grove Senior High School. Mielke has additionally held costuming, scenic, acting, teaching, and/or stage management roles at Children’s Theatre Company, The Guthrie Theater, Stages Theatre Company, Theatre Novi Most, MN Fringe Fest, Augsburg University, and now Macalester College. This is Faunus's (they/them) second show as an assistant stage manager at Macalester, and they are enjoying it greatly. They are excited to be spending so much time in the theatre department and would like to thank everyone who supported them through this show.
Stacey Palmer
Costume Shop Director
Stacey (she/her) is a theatrical costume and scenic designer who specializes in musicals, children’s productions, and educational theater. Her passion is collaborating with artists and creating work that has the capability of initiating positive change. With each production, she is dedicated to digging deep into the symbolism of the play and finding ways to incorporate the text into her design work. Stacey’s costume and scenic design has been seen on the stages of Journey North Opera Company, Children’s Theatre Company, Sod House Theater, Lakeshore Players, Theater Mu, Guthrie Theater, Daleko Arts, Steppingstone Theatre, Carleton College, The Haunted Basement, Eat Street Players, Stages Theatre, Anoka Ramsey Community College, and the University of Minnesota. Stacey has a B.S in Apparel Design with a minor in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota and an MFA in Scenic and Costume Design with a minor in Theatre Historiography from the University of Minnesota.

Claire (she/her) is a first year student interested in studying psychology at Macalester. She is excited to be continuing her lighting work in her first play at Macalester and would like to give thanks to everyone who has supported her journey in theatre!
Randy Reyes
Director
Randy Reyes (he/him) is an award-winning theater artist who has worked as a professional actor, director, and theater educator with institutions across the country including Perseverance Theatre, Theater Mu, The Guthrie, Mixed Blood, The Jungle Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Ten Thousand Things, Pillsbury House Theatre, St. Olaf College, NYU Graduate Acting Program, University of Minnesota, The University of Utah, Augsburg College, and Macalester College, where he is an Assistant Professor of Theater and Dance. Randy’s research involves decolonizing theater practices by re-imaging and adapting the ‘classics’, creating an equitable and rigorous rehearsal process, and incorporating new technology to enhance and modernize the theater going experience. He looks forward to making connections with other departments at Macalester to add depth and context to THDA projects. Randy is a proud Filipino American and believes deeply in telling untold stories to lift-up voices from marginalized and oppressed communities in the most dynamic and theatrical way. He trained at the University of Utah BFA Actor Training Program, where he received the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award, and The Juilliard School.
Heidi Batz Rogers
Fight Choreographer/Intimacy Director
Heidi Batz Rogers (she/her) is a Minneapolis-based multi-disciplinary artist with three+ decades experience contributing to Twin Cities theatre productions as an actor, director, designer and most passionately movement and stage fight director. Local theatre credits include Pillsbury House Theatre, The Guthrie, Mixed Blood, Theatre Mu, The Jungle, History Theatre, Stages Theatre Company, Rough Magic Performance Company and colleges and universities across the state. Motivated by the co-creative process Heidi enjoys working with diverse ensembles of performers and production teams to bring entertaining, engaging and enlightening stories to life.
Liselotte Seyberth-Shea '29
Stage Manager
Lilo (she/her) is a freshman and is currently undecided on a major, but is interested in technical theater and environmental studies. This is her first production at Macalester, but she was heavily involved in the theater productions in high school. This production has inspired her to be involved in more productions here at Macalester and perhaps beyond.

Pine (any pronouns) is a first year, interested in an English major and a Performance Design minor. He worked on The 39 Steps as a sound operator last semester. Outside of Theater, he's working on improving his writing.

Ivana Wu (she/her) is a junior at Macalester College, majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Performance and Technology Design. This is her fourth production with the Theater and Dance Department, having previously served as an assistant stage manager and costume designer in the Dance Concert. Hi! I’m Ciara Xu (she/her), a freshman at Mac intending to major in Environmental Studies and Data Science. I’m really interested in theatre, and I joined this production as part of my Stage Management course.
