Teaching
Pedagogical Philosophy
As an educator my goal is to help students develop a deep, confident understanding of fundamental concepts and the critical reasoning skills-- to empower them to solve problems within the discipline and to enjoy a broad mathematical perspective beyond it. Questions that I'm thinking about are how to foster community in the classroom and how to maintain high expectations while offering the grace and flexibility required by the current moment. Recently, I've experimented with flipped classrooms and mastery grading.
