Taryn Cristina Flock

I am an Assistant Professor at Macalester College. I teach courses in Calculus and Analysis.

My research focuses on sharp inequalities, specifically Brascamp-Lieb inequalities, norm estimates for the X-ray and Radon Transforms, and Fourier Restriction. I ask the questions: given an inequality, what are the cases of equality, if any? How can we use this information to improve the inequality?

I completed my PhD in 2014 under the direction of Mike Christ at UC Berkeley. My first postdoc was at the University of Birmingham, UK under the supervision of Jonathan Bennett, and my second was at UMass Amherst, under the supervision of Andrea Nahmod.
