About

The Ken Moffett Machine Shop serves all departments in the Science Division with the purpose of providing technical support in the building and repairing of scientific apparatus.  All faculty and staff are welcome to use the shop.   Students can use the shop on a case by case basis, for projects related to coursework, summer research, or capstone projects.

Ken Moffett's Legacy

Ken Moffett, for whom the shop is named after, served in the role of Scientific Instrument Technician at Macalester for 20 years, and was beloved by faculty and staff inside and outside of the Science Division.  Signs of Ken's brilliance and handy-work continue to persist throughout the shop, and in the many things he has created that are still around.   He continues to be greatly missed by many at Macalester.  Read more about Ken's many contributions to Macalester by clicking on the links below.
