Community Partners

Below is a (far from comprehensive) list of organizations working towards environmental justice . BF50 has worked directly with some of these organizations. All of these groups are doing very important work in our Twin Cities community.

MN State Horticultural Society

Cultivating a healthy, diverse, sustainable community of northern gardeners.

In 2023 MN State Horticultural Society invited BF50 & PSP to join them at the MN State Fair to showcase "Our Urban Canopy" Coloring Book. Britt moderated a panel discussion, titled: Growing Sustainable Communities

Investing in Minnesota’s Outdoor Resources

The mission of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is to work with Minnesotans to conserve and manage the state's natural resources, to provide outdoor recreation opportunities, and to provide for commercial uses of natural resources in a way that creates a sustainable quality of life.

In 2023, BF50 & Project Sweetie Pie partnered with DNR to create the First Edition of Northside Greening "Our Urban Canopy" Coloring Book.

HeartSpeaks partners with BF50 to host Workshops & invites other Poets to share Spoken Word/ Poetry at BF50 Gatherings. Lupe facilitates Poetry/Writing Workshops for Universities, Schools, local groups & Orgs outside of the Twin Cities.

BF50 Indigenous Health has partnered with several local organizations, with the mission of working towards sustainability and environmental justice. MN350

MN350 is a community-led group that "unites Minnesotans with the global movement to end the pollution damaging our climate, speed the transition to clean energy, and create a just and healthy future for all."

Project Sweetie Pie

Founded in 2011, Project Sweetie Pie is a "nonprofit organization in North Minneapolis working since 2011 with individuals and partner organizations to achieve justice in the environment, food, climate, and economics."
