The ArtVenturous Travel Conference is where townships lead the future of art, sport, and tourism.

Now entering its second powerful edition, this annual gathering brings together artists, athletes, educators, cultural workers, innovators, youth, and policymakers to explore how creativity, community, and travel can transform the African economy.

This year, from October 01-03, 2025, we take over the historic WITS University 01, Alexandra Township 02, Soweto 03, with post-conference ArtVentours on 04 October across Johannesburg, Alexandra and Soweto — turning homes into galleries, streets into studios, and neighbourhoods into living museums of possibility.

WHY WE EXIST

The ArtVenturous Travel Conference was born from the success of the Maboneng Township Arts Experience, an award-winning movement transforming township homes into creative destinations. The conference builds on this by creating a national (and international) space where policy meets play, dialogue meets design, and the township economy meets global opportunity.

We’re not just imagining a future where art, sport, and tourism create jobs and pride — we’re building it, together.
