ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
Works with small groups of students or individual students under the direct supervision of the teacher
Performs other miscellaneous tasks that support student achievement
Manages and instructs students on appropriate behavior using positive behavior support strategies consistent with Board policy and procedures
Helps maintain instructional area, supplies, equipment and facilities in a clean/safe condition
Assists teachers and support staff in preparing materials, housekeeping, record keeping and data collection relative to student progress
Maintain confidentiality
Fluent in both written and oral communication in English and Dari is required.
Translate verbal and written communication to ELL families as needed.

ML Instructional Coach
JOB SUMMARY: The ML Instructional Coach is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers/parapros by focusing on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding of effective researched-based instruction. The ML Instructional Coach focuses on enhancing teachers' ability to provide instruction that uses Michigan Academic Standards (MAS) to define what content to teach, while using WIDA Standards to define how language is scaffolded for MLs to access that content. The ML Instructional Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual instructional staff. The role of the ML Instructional Coach will be to promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed, and focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of concern. The ML Instructional Coach is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. Through a collaborative coaching cycle, the ML Instructional Coach empowers teachers to refine their practice, expand their pedagogical skills, and create rigorous, engaging learning experiences for all students. With a strong foundation in pedagogy around language acquisition, content knowledge, and interpersonal skills, the Instructional Coach plays a vital role in building teacher capacity and ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education that prepares them for success.
