About Me

Hi! My name is Samantha and I am currently a Senior at Marin Academy. I fell in love with dermatology when I started to struggle with acne towards the end of my eighth-grade year. Ever since I became addicted to watching videos from dermatologists and specialists. In my sophomore year, I decided to apply to the MARC program because I wanted to learn more about dermatology and use my love for dermatology to contribute to communities. In my Junior year, I found an interesting article about tick bites and the skin's reaction to them. From there, I sharpened my field more to focus on factors that cause a rise in local tick populations and some approaches to this issue.

Music

I am a music fanatic! You will often see me listening to Spanish music. I have multiple playlists on Spotify that I listen to depending on my mood. I love listening to different artists and learning more about pop culture.

Soccer

At 9 years of age, I was introduced to soccer and ever since have not stopped playing it. Soccer has taught me a lot about working as a team and learning from our mistakes. It is a good way to ease the mind from stress.

Baking & Cooking

From a very young age, I wanted to learn baking and cooking. During the summers and vacations, you will see me using up the kitchen to make some delicious desserts or some delicious cooking recipes.

Skateboarding

During my mental breaks, you will see me practicing on my skateboard outside of the house. I was introduced to skateboarding by a dear cousin during the summer of 2021. I continue to watch skateboard videos online to practice.
