My Path to MARC
Hi, my name is Keo, and I’m a junior at Marin Academy. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by science, especially biology. When I was younger, I would sit with my grandmother watching nature documentaries, imagining that one day I might contribute something meaningful to the field.
That curiosity is what first drew me to MARC. I initially thought I would pursue research related to cloning and biological conservation, but through experimentation and exploration, my interests evolved. Over time, I found myself drawn into the world of actin cytoskeletons and microgravity, a field I never expected to study but have become genuinely excited by.
Outside of MARC:
Outside of academics, I am an extremely involved and curious person. At MA, I serve as a class representative, lead the Debate Team, and participate in Mock Trial, Model UN, Admissions Fellows, Dialogue Across Difference oral histories, AI Student Advisory Committee, and Crossroads tutoring. Beyond school, I also teach public speaking to younger students at local libraries. Across everything I do, I’m drawn to spaces where I can speak, listen, lead, and help other people feel more confident using their own voices!
