My name is James Tatum, and I'm currently a high school junior at Marin Academy. I've really enjoyed Marin Academy's STEM classes and am very grateful to have the opportunity to conduct research through the Marin Academy Research Collaborative. I originally came into MARC wanting to do some form of machine learning and cancer research, and I am so happy with where I've landed. I'm excited to explore more about how diffusion models and synthetic data can drastically change the medical image space and help support more upcoming research.

Personal
Outside of MARC, I participate in many different teams and clubs we have at MA. I lead Mock Trial, Debate Team, and am a co-captain of both XC and Track. I'm also a member of the AI Student Advisory Committee, which was formed as of this past year. My favorite place to run is Tennessee Valley, and I'm currently in the process of training for a 50k.
These are pictures of Tennessee Valley from my recent runs.
