This paper was my introduction to scientific research. It examined the efficacy of a new sleep measurement tool, the Sleep Regularity Index (SRI), in the context of alcoholism, a long-studied form of addiction. Although it is no longer relevant to my project, it gave me the idea to study the intersection of sleep and addiction.

After I realized that I would not be able to do a project on alcoholism because it would be too expensive and complex for my budget and timeframe, I found this study, which gave me the idea to investigate internet/phone addiction in adolescents. This study covers the consequences of internet addiction on emotional and physical health and sleep quality.
