May 2025: I connected for the first time with my mentor, Hannah Clayton! She's a PhD candidate working in the Goldbogen lab at Stanford's Hopkins Marine Station in Monterey. She's researching feeding behavior in Gray Whales, in particular the unique intertidal pit feeding observed in the pacific northwest.
August 2025: Hannah is doing field work and processing the data, and I'm finishing up my literature review and project proposal. once the data is processed, she's going send it to me for analysis!
September 2025: as more of the data gets processed I'm moving into analysis, and after some challenges with the software, I'm excited to have some measuring to do!
January 2026: I've been working on a bunch of new data, and some patterns are starting to emerge!
April 2026: I'm coming to the end of my data analysis and measurement, and I'm writing up my final manuscript. Hannah has also found some really interesting energetic results!
Check back here for more updates as I continue my project!
