Background
My name is Ari Shakked and I am a student in the Marin Academy Research Collaborative. My interest in food allergy research comes from a childhood filled with the fear of nut allergen-induced anaphylaxis. After being desensitized to my allergy at 7 years old, I wanted to ensure that children would never have to experience the hardship of living with food allergies. I hope that my research in MARC will help to further the journey toward complete allergy prevention.
Other Interests
As a student at MA, I participate in music as an alto and baritone saxophonist. I also play year-round soccer for both MA and my club, Marin FC as a goalkeeper. I lead the Jewish Student Organization, one of MA's most active identity groups, helping to educate others about Jewish cultural and religious practices. Outside of school and off the field, I am an avid chess player, sushi aficionado, Seahawks fanatic, and a huge dog person. I also work at a Jewish summer camp that helps kids advance their sports skills while furthering their relationship with Judaism!
