Background
Hello! I'm Amrik, a Senior at Marin Academy in San Rafael, California. My academic journey has led me to a profound interest in policy-driven solutions to climate change.Â
Interests and Passions
I am deeply fascinated by the intersection of political science, economics, and climate issues. I believe that real change in the face of climate change requires effective policy measures that go beyond superficial greenwashing.
Extracurricular Activities
In my free time, I play Varsity tennis for my school and have dedicated the past 10 years to this sport. Outside of sports, I've dedicated over 200 hours to community service as I have worked with organizations both here in Marin and in Honolulu.
Leadership is another facet of my journey as the Freshman & Senior Class Representative and the leader of the Asian Student Organization, Entrepreneurship Club, Climate Tech Club, and Marin Academy Student Investment Fund.
Relevant Courses
Geometry, Algebra II, PreCalculus (H), Biology, Chemistry, Philosophy of Economics (CC), Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (H), Advanced Calculus (H), Advanced Physics w/ Calculus (H).
Motivation
The devastating 2019 Kincaid fires that hit close to my home have fueled my passion for making a tangible impact in helping sustain our environment. In the pursuit of a sustainable future, I aim to bridge my academic interests in political science, economics, and climate sustainability, striving to contribute meaningful insights and impact to the ongoing discourse on climate change.
