Welcome to 6th grade science! I am so glad I get to be your science teacher and I look forward to teaching you. Please feel free to contact me by email or school phone number if ever there are any questions or concerns.

Daily Required Materials

• Pencil

• Pen

• Planner

• Blue folder

• Blue notebook

Materials Used Occasionally

• Basic calculator

• Highlighter

• Colored pencils

*Students will be informed when to bring these materials by a sign outside the door the day they are needed

Overall Grade

A student’s overall science grade is figured in the following way:

• 40% Homework and Science Labs

• 60% Assessments

Grading Scale

A+ 100-98% B+ 89-87% C+ 79-77% D+ 69-67%

A 97-94% B 86-83% C 76-73% D 66-63%

A- 93-90% B- 82-80% C- 72-70% D- 62-60%

F below 60%

Classroom Expectations

• Student comes to class each day with the daily required materials

• Student completes all work in pencil and will be asked to redo if not done in pencil

• Student is in his/her seat when the bell rings

• Student respects others and classroom materials

• Student follows directions the first time they are given

• Student raises hand to participate in class or leave assigned seat

• Student always gives exceptional effort, stays positive, and seeks help when needed
